I’ve found a new phenomenal blog that I just can’t get enough of (click the link above to witness the awesomeness). I’ve always loved the idea of casual afternoon picnics with adorable baskets and matching utensils, and voilà I find Garnish.

They make packaging for pretty much anything. From soup containers, to wooden utensils to disposable coffee cups. If you’ve thought of it, they make it! I just shared the link with one of my sorority sisters, and thank goodness she shared my delight! We’re now in the process of planning an adorable ladies luncheon or dinner, complete with Garnish goodies!

My non-alcoholic mimosas (one made with orange juice and one with pink lemonade). Both include sparkling cider. Both are delicious!

*Behind the faux mimosas are two bottles of wine I brought back with me from London for friends. They tilt slightly to the right - a point I hadn’t realized until my darling friend M pointed it out!

Graduation Time!

Being the crafty woman I am, I decided to create my own graduation announcements instead of purchasing the standard ones that my school offered. They turned out pretty nice and I received tons of compliments for my creativity. If you want to make your own graduation announcements or invitations in general just read below!

What You’ll Need:

-Construction Paper

-Decorative Scissors

-Ribbon

-Photographs

-Standard Plain Cards and Envelopes

-Decorative Decals

1. Cut construction paper to fit front of greeting card. The front of my card says “Class of 2011”. Place decorative decals on the front of your greeting cards. By cutting two small holes at the top of the cards, you can add a ribbon.

2. For the inside, use double-stick tape to put your photograph on the left inside section of your card. I was able to print a double-photo photograph from CVS for only $0.49!

3. On the right inside section of your card, put all of the information that your guests will need! Mine includes the address of the graduation ceremony and where the reception will take place.

4. This final step is optional! You can include an additional card that gives directions from the graduation ceremony to the reception and the average prices of meals at your reception hall. I also included the type of cuisine that the restaurant serves.

Buca Di Beppo is amazing! If you want great Italian food with larger than life servings, give it a try.

Now you’re DONE! Good luck creating your own graduation announcements and congratulations to all the 2011 Graduates!

Here’s the final product! Please ignore the “Bachelor’s of Arts” mistake (it’s supposed to read “Bachelor of Arts degree”). The surprisingly good Ohio weather must have gone to my head.

Henna Princess

This weekend I volunteered at the 33rd African American Heritage Festival and I had the opportunity to meet another Crafty-Sister, Sumeet. Sumeet’s henna station was a hit at the Kick-Off for the AAHF, with a line of over 30 people. I decided to get a beautiful traditional henna tattoo on my forearm and hand. How amazing would henna be for a wedding or cocktail dinner? It would definitely add a diverse cultural twist to any event.
